BioPen®: The Idea and prototypes

The Idea of a BioPen® needle came during a procedure that took more than 10 passes for adequacy, which is not uncommon with standard FNA techniques. What if you can get more cellular material with a single needle and less passes. After the procedure, my assistant wrote the number of biopsies on the form with a Ballpoint Pen, then the BioPen® was born!
